Your Google Business Profile is the listing people see on Google Maps and in the box on the right when they search your gym's name. Google also uses it to show your address and reviews under your ads. We can't link it to your ads or fix anything on it until you've added us as a manager.
A manager can edit the listing and reply to reviews. A manager can't remove you or hand the listing to anyone else, and you can take us off whenever you want.
Before you start
Sign in to the Google account that owns the listing. If you're not sure which one that is, it's usually the one that gets the emails when someone leaves a review. This is the email you'll be adding:
Adding us
- Go to google.com and search your gym's name.
- Above the results you should see a box that says Your business on Google. If you don't, you're signed in to the wrong account. Click your photo in the top right, switch, and search again.
- In that box, click the three dots and pick Business Profile settings.
- Click People and access.
- Click Add.
- Paste the email above.
- Under Access pick Manager.
- Click Invite.
Google emails us the invite and we accept it on our end.
Go to business.google.com instead. Click your gym if it asks you to pick one, then find People and access in the menu or behind the three dots next to the business name, then follow the same steps.
If your gym isn't there either, a different Google account owns it. Try any other login you've ever used for the business, even an old one. If none of them work, text Matt and we'll go through Google to get it back.
Sometimes we request access from our side first. If you have an email from Google Business Profile saying someone asked for access to your listing, approving it from that email does the same thing as the steps above.
Then text Matt
Just say it's done. We'll accept the invite and hook the listing up to your ads.
Open People and access again. matt@mysmallbusinessmarketing.com should be in the list as a Manager. It'll say Invited until we accept, which is normal. If it's not in the list, the invite didn't go through, so run the steps again.
