How to Share Your Facebook Pixel With Us

What this is and why we ask

Your Facebook pixel (Meta now calls it a dataset) is the piece of code that tells Facebook when someone who saw your ad went on to fill out a form or book a call. Without it, Facebook can only optimize your ads for clicks. With it, Facebook learns which clicks turn into leads and finds more of those people.

The pixel belongs to your business, so only you can share it. Sharing gives us permission to use it in your ads and to install it on your pages. It does not move it out of your account, and you can remove our access at any time.

Five minutes, on a computer. It is hard to do from the Meta app.

Before you start

You will need to be an admin of your business portfolio on Facebook, and you will need our partner ID. Copy it now:

Partner ID3460421447585585

That ID is our business portfolio, Grow My Small Business. Digital Gym Growth runs inside it.

Part 1: share the pixel with us

  1. Go to business.facebook.com/settings and sign in. If you have more than one business portfolio, pick your gym's in the top left.
  2. In the left menu, open Data sources, then Pixels. On some accounts this reads Datasets instead. Same thing.
  3. Click your gym's pixel in the list. If there is more than one, use the one whose Last activity date is recent. That is the one in use.
  4. Click Assign partners.
  5. Choose Business ID, paste the partner ID from above, and click Next.
  6. Turn on Manage pixel (full control). Viewing only is not enough for us to run ads with it.
  7. Click Assign. We now see the pixel on our side.
If the pixel list is empty

You may not have one yet. Go to Events Manager, click Connect data sources, choose Web, give it your gym's name, and click Create. Then come back to Part 1. Do not install the code it offers you; we do that.

Part 2: connect the pixel to your ad account

The ad account needs its own permission to use the pixel, separate from the share above.

  1. Stay on the pixel's page in Business Settings and open the Connected assets tab.
  2. Click Add assets.
  3. Tick the ad account your ads run from and click Add.

If you are not sure which ad account that is, text Matt. He will give you the name and number.

Part 3: tell us

Send Matt a text or email that says the pixel is shared, with the pixel ID if you have it handy. The ID is the long number under the pixel's name. From there we switch your ads over to optimizing for leads and put the pixel on your pages.

How to check it worked

In Business Settings, open Partners, click Grow My Small Business, and look under Assets you assigned. Your pixel should be listed with Manage pixel next to it. If it is not there, Part 1 did not save. Try it again.
